Divari Beach
Divari Beach is a superb sandy stretch of coast that hugs the northern edge of the Navarino Bay. Its waters and calm and shallow near the coast, making this beach a great choice for families with younger children. For those who prefer organized beaches there are a couple of beach bars that offer sun beds for lease along with an assortment of food and drink options. Alternatively, you can bring your own summer gear and set up a spot anywhere you like along the coast.
Voidokilia Beach
Hidden behind large sand dunes on the west coast of Messinia, Voidokilia beach is easily one of the most popular beaches in the area. Shaped like a crescent moon with fine golden sand and crystal clear waters that remain shallow for many meters off the coast, Voidokilia is another good choice for families with young children. No amenities available so make sure to bring your own provisions. Opt for a visit early during the day to avoid the crowds.
Glossa Beach
Located just behind the famous Voidokilia Beach, Glossa Beach is a lesser known small sand and pebble cove in the shape of a triangle that is fed by the deep blue opens waters of the Ioanian Sea. Due to its somewhat challenging access, Glossa Beach is especially prized for the privacy that it offers as well as for its unique and beautiful landscape. Visitors will need to bring their own beach equipment as there are no amenities available on this beach.
Romanos Beach
A striking long stretch of coast with golden sands and deep blue waters located a little outside the small village of Romanos. This beach boasts refreshingly cool waters owing to its facing directly into the open sea. The coast’s great length makes Romanos beach a great choice for all types of travelers as there is a beach bar that operates the stretch of coast nearest the parking area but also plenty of open space for those that prefer to enjoy the beach on their own terms.
Chrysi Akti Beach
A beautiful sandy beach with exceptionally clear waters, Chrysi Akti Beach is best known for its lively beach bar and laid back atmosphere. It is easily accessible by car and the beach bar offers plenty of sun beds for rent as well as a good selection of food and drink. Sun beds are available for rent on a part of the coast but most of the beach is free so you can also bring your own beach equipment. Just pick a spot that you like and enjoy the sun.
